RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

  • Report directly to the Plant Manager.
  • Train, oversee and manage MP&L staff.
  • When necessary, be able to perform any MP&L staff responsibilities in addition to oversight of the other MP&L staff.
  • Coordinates new job kickoff and confirms budgets are available, reviews Make Vs. Buy, Process, and Routings for input into E2.
  • Oversee and manage daily production schedules in Processing, Welding, Paint and Assembly and coordinate to meet customer delivery expectations as detailed in the weekly production schedule.
  • Ensure production summary quantities are entered into E2 as reported by Plant Manager.
  • Coordinate necessary transportation pickups to meet delivery and production schedules, along with preparing necessary shipping documentation.
  • Receive and verify quantities of material being delivered by vendors and customers. Ensure material is properly identified and logged into E2 for proper tracking and accounting for material.
  • Transfer verified shipping documentation to accounting for proper payment of invoices.
  • Coordinate physical inventory verifications for accurate reporting as required.
  • Perform weekly facility cleanliness audits and report out results for actions to be taken.
  • Verify & signoff daily time tickets are complete and accurate for MP&L hourly staff and turn in for E2 reporting.
  • Verify with MP&L staff equipment such as hilos, trucks, cranes etc. are properly set up and functioning safely as intended. Follow up on necessary maintenance schedules as required.
  • Verify with MP&L staffs that employees understand how to operate the tools and equipment required to perform their assigned task.
  • Mange staff to ensure area is running efficiently and in accordance with production expectations.
  • Manages employee’s time card issues and PTO requests with MP&L staffs.
  • Verify with MP&L staffs work areas are clean and organized at all times.
  • Provide performance evaluations for staff as required.
  • Maintain a respectful and professional approach to communicating with others.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies including safety rules and quality standards.
  • Provide necessary manufacturing support as required to meet production output requirements.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing welded products.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and direct others.
